REQUIREMENTS:

Education:  RN Certification.

Experience:  None.  One year in similar position preferred.

Physical Requirements:  Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination.  Frequent walking, keyboarding, speaking, writing, bending, carrying, pushing, pulling, sitting, stooping, and turning.  Some lifting up to 30 lbs.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

Other Requirements:  RN Certification. Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, and problem solving skills.  Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, email, and internet.  Ability to provide physical assessment and CPR.  Ability to keep information confidential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:

1. Consults with School Nurse to determine goals and services; complying with District policy and procedures.
2. Serves as a team member in identifying, evaluation, and providing services for children.
3. Collects information about the health and developmental status of students in a systematic and continuous matter.
4. Maintains a nursing care plan with goals and interventions unique to student needs.
5. Focuses on prevention of illness, disability, and early detection and correction of health problems.
6. Maintains student health records.
7. Coordinates building health screenings and physical exams.
8. Facilitates referral of students and families to appropriate district and community services.
9. Administers medications, treatments, and procedures as directed by physicians and District policy.
10. Provides health education for students, staff, and parents/guardians.
11. Maintains and assures confidentiality.
12. Complies with FRPA guidelines.
13. Inventories and requests equipment and supplies.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
