REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field preferred.
Experience: Three years in mass communications/public relations or three years teaching experience in related field. 5 Years preferred.
Physical Requirements: Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination. Frequent walking, keyboarding, speaking, writing, bending, carrying, pushing, pulling, sitting, stooping, turning and driving. Some lifting up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
Other Requirements: Valid, current Driver’s license. Excellent written and verbal communication, strategic planning, problem solving, organizational, time management, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to keep information confidential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:
- Responsible for the daily management of communication for the District.
- Assists in the development of strategic actions for maintaining positive community relations.
- Develops and oversees the District communication plan.
- Researches, writes, edits, and designs District publications.
- Researches and produces written and/or video communications related to District projects.
- Develops and maintains relationships with media.
- Oversees development and design of website and social media platforms and messages.
- Assists in developing policies pertaining to school/community relations.
- Executes emergency correspondence.
- Provides on-going support to Schools with use of mass communication systems.
- Responsible for administering communication budgets and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
